Meet Darren

Darren started Savage Systems in response to what he repeatedly witnessed during his years as a consultant. Time and again, he saw organizations struggle—not because of strategy or talent, but because leaders weren’t equipped to lead under pressure.

As change accelerated and uncertainty increased, a consistent pattern emerged. Leaders became hesitant in their decision-making. Teams lost focus and motivation. Execution slowed—or stopped altogether.

Not because leaders didn’t care or lacked capability, but because they weren’t equipped with a system for how to lead under pressure.

When pressure rises, performance doesn’t default to capability—it defaults to preparation and having a system to lead through it.

That realization sparked an awakening.

While Darren could help companies improve strategy and execution, he saw a bigger opportunity: focus on the people who determine whether strategy actually turns into results—people managers.

Because the gap between strategy and execution isn’t a strategy problem. It’s a leadership problem.

Today, Darren’s work is focused on helping people managers lead with confidence under pressure—especially during periods of rapid change and uncertainty. Through keynotes and coaching individual leaders and their leadership teams, he equips leaders to act decisively, make better and faster decisions, and execute during change and uncertainty.

Before launching Savage Systems, Darren held leadership roles at Accenture, Gap, and Neutrogena, where he gained firsthand experience leading teams through complex, high-pressure environments. He earned his MBA from UC Berkeley and graduated with highest honors from UC Davis.

Outside of work, he enjoys spending time in the mountains snowboarding with his family and supporting his sons in their year-round sports, from baseball to soccer.
